Criminal Law

Criminal cases handled by REWP Law include cases that commonly occur in people's lives, such as; fraud, embezzlement, forgery, theft, threats and violence. Legal services provided by NLO in criminal cases, both general crimes and special crimes which are regulated separately from the Criminal Code, such as corruption, banking crimes and so on. The main focus of our services is "assistance and provision of legal aid" whether as a suspect, defendant or as a witness in criminal cases, namely:

  • Provide legal advice

  • Acting as a companion and defending someone accused/accused of committing a crime in a criminal case, both at the police level up to the District, High Court and Supreme Court levels

  • File exceptions, duplicates and defenses (pledoi) against clients in judicial bodies throughout Indonesia. File an appeal at the High Court or cassation to the Supreme Court against a civil or criminal judge's decision that is detrimental to the client's interests


The importance of mentoring and/or providing legal assistance by an advocate to clients includes:

  • Provide understanding and explanations regarding the problem and its legal consequences objectively

  • Maintaining and defending the rights of a defendant/suspect (client) based on the principle of presumption of innocence in maintaining formal legal rules

  • To ensure that there are no errors in the process of conviction, examination and arrest by officials of the Republic of Indonesia Police

  • Requesting a pre-trial hearing against the Police of the Republic of Indonesia to safeguard the client's interests

  • Making demands for compensation and rehabilitation due to errors in the arrest process by the Police of the Republic of Indonesia

  • Provide assistance in connection with investigations by the Police of the Republic of Indonesia in safeguarding human rights in maintaining material law and formal law

  • Providing assistance at trial level, including preparing strategies and steps for legal defense for clients, including; exceptions, duplicates, pleas, evidence and conclusions in criminal cases

  • Carry out legal efforts in criminal cases faced by a client in the event that the judge applies the law incorrectly or new evidence is discovered in the case, including appeals, appeal memos, counter appeal memos, cassation or judicial review

  • Apply for pardon and/or remission to the relevant state institutions for the benefit of the client
